Earl Grey Butter Cookies

50. EARL GREY BUTTER COOKIES

Regular butter cookies are really yummy, but can get rather boring. These are delightfully yummy Earl Grey infused butter cookies, excellent with a cuppa any time of the day!
These cookies are crisp and melt in your mouth. The minced Earl Grey leaves can be seen and tasted, but does not leave any "residue" on your palette. Indulge...

Crunchy on the outside, but melts in your mouth. These buttery shortbreads are filled with chopped dried cranberries and topped with a sprinkle of castor sugar. Excellent for tea time with friends & family.

Chocolate Fudge & Cream

Chocolate Fudge & Fresh Cream

Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate! That's what you get for falling in love with this cake!
Dutch chocolate powder, white & dark chocolate chips, soft & fluffly chocolate sponge and rich dark 72% chocolate fudge.
Don't be deceived by the
fresh cream & cherries topping; be careful not to get a chocolate high...!

Coffee Chocolate cake

Coffee Chocolate cake

The perfect wake me up! Soft, fluffy espresso coffee sponge with coffee cream. But it's not just that! There's a "surprise" layer of dark chocolate fudge in between those layers to give the coffee flavour an extra edge. Oh! Did I mention it has got gourmet espresso coffee drizzled into this cake too? The sides are generously covered in toasted sliced almond flakes.

P/s: Happy Birthday Auntie Betty! God bless you loads!

Dark Cherry Chocolate cake

Dark Cherry Chocolate Cake
This cake is really light and refreshingly pleasant. The dark cherries are cooked with spice and layered with fresh cream and amazingly fluffy chocolate cake! It's topped off with Dutch cocoa powder, a little fresh cream, cherries and dark chocolate coins.
It's the kind of cake you eat and just can't stop! I confess. I'm an addict of this one...

Gon Lou Mee

Gon Lou Mee
In direct english translation, that means "Dry tossed noodles". It's really simple to make. The only thing that's important is the right texture of the cooked egg noodles. It's boiled till it's sort of "Al dente". Then a drizzle of thick dark soya sauce, a little light soya sauce, crispy onions/garlic & a drizzle of its oil, spring onions and whatever other ingredients you might want to add in there. I put diced chicken breast, chilli fishballs , blanched vegeatbles and half a hard boiled egg in mine. And oh! I need fresh red cut chilli with my noodles too!

You can't really see the noodles in the first picture, so I tossed (or "lou-ed") it to get this! For something so simple to make, it's really yummy!

Chocolate Truffle w Fruit & Nut Bark

Fruit & Nut Bark
This is my regular Chocolate Truffle cake, except that instead of using fresh strawberries, I topped it off with some homemade fruit & nut chocolate pieces for a more" textured" look. I mixed chopped roasted almonds, dried cranberries & sultanas into melted 72% cocoa dark chocolate and froze it, but not before drizzling over with some melted white chocolate.
Nice?

Pound cake

Marble butter tea cake
Sometimes, we just want butter cake. Good Ol' fashioned butter cake. Erm, but with some chocolate. *Blush* Nothing beats butter cake with a nice hot cuppa tea! I make mine with with a pound of each: flour, eggs, sugar and butter, but add some fresh milk in there for a soft texture, so it doesn't come out dry.
Tea, anyone?

Lavander Shortbread

Lavander Shortbread
Full butter shortbread is delightful enough on its own. Imagine it with dried fresh lavander flowers!

Homemade Kaya

Homemade Kaya
Who can resist homemade kaya? It's got no preservatives or colouring. All you need is sugar, eggs and coconut milk that is freshly squeezed! I sliced my bread in half width-wise before toasting, so it comes out really crunchy on the outside, but still a little fluffy in the inside.
Kaya on one side, semi-thick butter pieces on the other. Great for breakfast or tea time with a cup of coffee!

Viennese cookies
In all shapes and sizes, fillings and toppings...

Chicken pie

Chicken pie
GIVE ME MY CHICKEN PIE!!!
AND Some...
I was reminded about my chicken pie when a friend said she didn't see a picture of it here. So here it is!
Both large pie & mini pies have the half slice of hard boiled egg in them. (Yes...I DID manage to squeeze half an egg in the mini one. *Wink*) And what's a pie without loads of creamy, chunky potato, chicken meat, carrots, onions and yes, hard boiled eggs?!!
These were made on demand, using the traditional savoury short crust pastry, which is delightfully different from the "popular" puff pastry which can be rather oily. Great for tea parties or baby showers, perhaps? *Smile*
