94. De-constructed Cupcakes


C requested for her cupcakes to be de-constructed for her daughter's birthday party. Here's the "kit" I prepared - Old Fashioned Chocolate Cupcakes, dark/white chocolate chips, mini hearts sprinklers, medium hearts sprinklers, chocolate rice, 100's & 1000's and **icing in various pretty colours.
**The Lemon Cream cheese icing has been made softer to facilitate the "spread-ability" of the icing for the children's easy handling.

I'm sure they'll have a ball of a time, comparing who made the prettiest cupcake! :0)

I've been pretty much out of action for a week (actually, only 5 days), but it feels like eternity! I couldn't take not having spent time with my darling oven so, I got up early today to "scratch that itch"...

Here's what I made, but for your eyes only as these cakes and pastries are new and require abit more fine-tuning.

Ready-mix?

Dear friends,

In response to the many who have asked me to teach them to bake, I've come up with an idea to offer my cookies "ready-mix". All the dry ingredients you need for the perfect cookies.

The only thing you'll have to provide yourselves is the butter and/or the egg. Method wise, it's pretty much "all-in", i.e. everything in the mixer, just press the "ON" button! All the baking instructions will be provided for you to follow step by step to bake simply divine and delish cookies. You don't even need a convection oven to be a baker - even that red little open door toaster can do the trick!

So, what do you say?
It's the perfect fool-proof way to turn anyone into great bakers! And oh! The kids will have a ball of a time, don't you think?

91. Chef-on-call

I had the privilege of preparing an early Valentine's Day dinner for Jaslene and her partner last weekend, but due to the crazy 17-hours-a-day-week I had been working, I hadn't had the mind (or energy) to take pictures of every course of dinner. :0(

I truly apologise for the muddled-headed-ness, but am very glad that they both loved the 4-course meal I had catered for them! :0)

Menu that evening was:-

Soups
Chunky Wild Mushroom soup
Cream of Potato and Mustard

Starters
Stuffed Mini Portabello with Mozzarella cheese
Smoked Salmon Bruchetta with Poached egg















Entrees

Lamb Backstrap with Garlic mashed potatos and Mint Salsa
Chicken breast stuffed with Cream cheese and Spinach with Medley of Wild Mushrooms















Desserts

Cookies and Cream Torte with Macadamia nuts
Lemon Curd tart with Lavander flowers
